Fishing in the St. Ignace, MI area

Fishing in the St. Ignace, MI area

Now We all know people love Fish for the sport of it and then there’s people who fish for the enjoyment of this game. Now this is a very exciting sport especially when you set the hook on a real game fish such as a northern pike or Salmon.  Now there is plenty of other game fish out there. But what I am going to talk about is the the fishing that exist in the St. Ignace, Michigan area. Now some of you might know this small town then there are some of you who don’t have any clue, now for those of you who don’t know about St. Ignace. St. Ignace is a historic and tourist town. Due to Mackinac Island being a huge hot spot for tourism with the ferry docks that are in this town are the only ways to get to the Island besides plane. This town from May to September has thousands of tourists. What I am talking about though is the fishing in this area. Now the fishing in this area is very good.  But only at certain times of the seasons due to the 2 Great lakes that surround this town (Lake Huron and Lake Michigan) now people do know about how well this sport is here. But we don’t know if other people outside the town see this. Now during  salmon season in this town which begins in early September to late October early November.  Is where the real fun begins!  And I’m not talking about a 6 inch to 10 inch fish. These fish get to at least 20 inches and 25 pounds. Now there is smaller but that is not a likely chance. Salmon fish in these water can get as big as 40 inches if not bigger and up to 40 pounds. These are some monsters! Now there is a few different ways to catch them. By using different lures. And if you are Native American you can use a technique called snagging which is having a type 4 or 3 treble hook to snag. While they are swimming past you can drop you hook right there and snag. But timing is everything.  I think with somebody putting information out onto the web will show people just how great fishing is out here!
