About St. Ignace

St. Ignace is a very populated town during the summer. Because of Mackinac Island right in view.  Also due to the only transportation that you can get to Mackinac Island with is. Ferry boats that are only in St.  Ignace and Mackinac city which is back down across the bridge. Now the Ferry boats that can get you to this magnificent place are Arnold Transit, Sheplers, and Star Line are the 3 Ferry companies that offer this. But this town long ago used to be settled by just the American Indians with their fur trading days, we also have the Fort DE Baude museum that explains the war between the Americans and the British. Because at one time Mackinac Island was once called Fort Michlimackinac. On the Island they have reenactments of this war between the two. These two places have a very historic past. That anyone would love to see and understand. There isn’t much on the homeland to do during winters. We all get so bored. Except when pound hockey comes around in February. Which is a hockey game well several of them. That the teams gather from all around and play hockey on the Great Lakes such as Lake Michigan or Lake Huron! So with this being said we would love for everyone to come visit this town and take a soothing trip to Mackinac Island just before leaving or just arriving into town. It is all very exciting!!
